Mobile game maker Jam City lays off 10% of staff

Jam City, the mobile game maker of titles like Cookie Jam, said it has laid off about 10% of its staff in a restructuring of its 850-person workforce.

“We made the very difficult decision to implement an organizational restructuring that includes reducing our workforce,” said the company in a statement. “This impacts approximately 10% of our team members across all departments and locations. These changes allow us to streamline our operations and focus our resources on the long-term sustainability and future success of the company.”

Jam City said it remains focused on its business strategy to grow its portfolio of core genres and blockbuster mobile games and deliver best-in-class gaming experiences for its players.

“We are deeply grateful for the contributions of all our team members, and we will support our departing Jam Citizens during this transition with severance packages and reverse recruiting efforts,” Jam City said.
